This week's seed: Raiding Party

Cogmind is going on the offensive.

The Weekly Seed is open to anyone, and we encourage you to share your experiences, stories, and tactics over the course of your run.

The rules are as follows:

  • The Weekly Seed begins from the date this thread is posted and lasts about seven days.
  • Make sure you are running the correct version of Cogmind (see thread subject).
  • Enter the seed and abort your current game to initiate the seed (more details are below).
  • Verify you are not running the tutorial and that the screenshots below match your game.
  • Play through the game once. This is a friendly event and we are all honest people.
  • When finished, post your scoresheet here (it should be the newest file in /scores) and any other screenshots/stories/strategies you wish to share with the community.
  • If you want to share details about the seed or your approach, make sure you use spoiler tags.
  • Due to the spoilerific nature of this thread, be sure to avoid reading details about the seed if you haven't completed your run.

HOW TO ENTER A SEED

Press F1 to go to the MENU, select OPTIONS, select Seed, and enter this week's seed:




Select GAME, select ABORT:




If you have followed the steps [Manual seed applied: Raiding Party] should display in the log window.

Well, I finally decided to give these weekly seeds a try...but my run ended up being my worst scoring run ever :(

I died on -9 due to an unfortunate series of events involving this garrison: http://imgur.com/DxM8p1n

Basically I tried to seal it but failed and ran into a patrol that called for garrison backup which cut off my escape and more and more melee enemies kept coming out of the garrison and there were some really unfortunately placed traps nearby and so that by the time I managed to destroy the garrison and kill all the enemies I had barely any core left, so then later I got cored by some pests that came out of an exit. Should be pretty easy for anyone to beat me here, but hey at least I participated for once! Run info should be attached with this post.

Having trouble repeating your amazing first run, eh? It's still way up there on the leaderboards :P

Garrisons are especially dangerous early on when you have a relatively low-integrity and unprotected core. If I so much as see the corner of one, or even hear it dispatch something, I turn around and look for another way around xD

Good idea to attach the HTML log, too. Kinda fun to skim those to get an idea of what happened. We can see what that oh-so-nasty trap did to you, heh.

ok. plan was to enter the party with an heavy build-up.
with beautiful treads and so on...had to change to plan B
because found of better parts for that. the B stands for flyin'!
but entered completly naked that everbody was able to see my big fat core..
