Question about a mysterious caves tinkerer

A tinkerer that has broken assembled in front of their hideout, the one that says : "i like it here, it's quiet and nobody bothers me, for obvious reasons." or something like that. Can i do something here or are they just there for flavor or something like that and i shouldn't worry about them? (if i can do something, please only lightly hint at what it is.)
