REXPaint on M1 Mac

Since I want to probably soon buy a M1 Macbook: Has anyone tried to get REXPaint working on such a machine ? I guess probably Crossover or Parallels is needed ? My understanding is that the open source version of Wine is not working on a M1.

I'm not too familiar with Macs, but as far as OS version goes, Catalina (or in the future anything after that) requires a recent version of Crossover 19 or later, so my guess is anything M1-related will as well, RP still being 32-bit and all.

I haven't heard of anyone using it on M1 in particular yet. Maybe someone else here will know (otherwise there are lots of users on the Roguelikes/RoguelikeDev Discord--one of them might have by now?).
