How does the operator report?
« on: June 01, 2020, 01:59:24 AM »

I am Japanese, English is powered by machinery.

I was able to clear it in a short time,
I spent most of my holidays on it but was a little short.

What I was curious about was the operator, which might be spoiled.
I heard that when the operator discovers a Player, it will report from the terminal, but I received many reports with "-1", but more than half of them were reported to opponents I could not see, and a large amount of reinforcements Was forced to fight ...
How do they discover me?
Over the course of playing the game for a long time, the number of terrifying reinforcements of -1 seemed very boring and unreasonable.

Hi Haraguro! From what I can gather from your question, I think you're wondering about being discovered by Operators, and they're just like any other hostile bot in that if your location is referred to them by a nearby ally, then they know where you are and can act on that. (Not quite sure what you mean by "-1" here--that's referring to the depth you're at?)

There are lots of ways to mitigate being discovered, or deal with the consequences of it, although it's really hard to give a comprehensive rundown without writing a massive guide because there really are a lot of options available!

Transmission Jammers, using sensors to avoid enemies, increasing sight range so you can see enemies down corridors before they spot you, various types of hacking to learn enemy/Operator positions, hacking to control reinforcements/dispatches, destroying an Operator's Terminal before they can report you... that's just a small sampling of possibilities.

Information is important, so even if you don't do it in the long term, perhaps you should spend some time using good sensors to learn how enemies move and behave in order to devise strategies and tactics that will work against them.

(Note we have a small community of Japanese players as well that you might be able to get in touch with via Twitter, like @PLHX (one of Cogmind's best players), @alice_fexa, @trione3311, @shishiclaw, and more.)

Thank you.

Yes, "-1" indicates depth.

I see, the approach to research using sensors is very nice.
To be honest, I was a little tired, so I asked.
If you come in contact with other issues, you'll want to be prepared to explore the issue and investigate for debugging.

Maybe I shouldn't talk about it here, but regarding depth--2. -3 was so easy to feel that only -1 was difficult. This may be due to my design. (It was a battle build considering offense and defense.)
I will report uniformly. :)

I can assure you there aren't any bugs involved :)

Another way you can explore the alert system is by using a RIF Installer inside a Garrison, if you haven't done that before, since that will help you get a clearer grasp of the alert mechanics, which is what will lead you to be overwhelmed if not controlled for!

That's a big part of what will determine how hard things are, but at the same time if you're not exactly driving up the alert and getting more dispatches that way (e.g. assaults), then I would guess your main problem is not exactly the dispatches or even Operator-called investigations (which honestly aren't that bad since they're not directly after you), but patrols. Depending on how you navigate a map, you can make it more or less likely that you'll run into random patrols. There are plenty of forces on a given map, but whether or not you actually run into them is up to you ;)

Regardless, -1/Access is going to be harder than previous floors. This is normal and to be expected! Research is usually no pushover, either, but as you say it can also really depend on your build (and play style).

Roger that!
Okay, I'm still inexperienced so I'd love to play it with a lot of approaches!
Thank you for your kindness.
Another story is the town where the shogun is? The town behind the cave.
Is it normal for a large number of enemies to appear, perhaps because of the time spent talking there?

Hehe, I love that machine translation, "the shogun" :D

Yes it is normal, you need to fight your way out, ideally when they tell you to (there's a counterattack then). Or if you're really fast you can just speed out on your own, but if you're not fast then it's best if you work with everyone to take back the outer area and leave from the exit ASAP. It can be a pretty dangerous event, but the benefits you'll get later are pretty much always worth it!

Hey!

I'm an experienced player of cogmind. I speak some Japanese, so if you ever have a question, feel free to ask in Japanese too! I would love the opportunity to practice.

Most players, including myself, visit the discord server rather than this forum. If you ask things there you might get an answer more quickly. I'll paste a link below.

to Kyzrati

Thank you very much!
I was surprised because I couldn't compete at first, but I'll try hard to win.
I'm sorry to hear anything! This is a real game, so you have to search for it yourself...

to Pimski

Thank you!
I tried to mess with Discord, but I kept it because there was a lot of explanation, but today I unlocked it!
Nice to meet you, Master!

ありがとうございます!
Discordは参加してみたけど、たくさん説明があったのでそのままにしていましたが、今日鍵を開けました!
よろしくおねがいします、マスター!
