This is like one of the most ridiculous runs ever.
I set myself up for a combat build, armed with 4 weapons and legs. Along the way, I visited several branches including Zion, Warlord, and Zhirov. I didn't get imprinted this time because I wanted to try out Warlord. Fortunately, it wasn't too difficult to get there. After that, I switched over to hover propulsion when I found a big stash of Gravmag Arrays and a couple of Antigrav Systems. It's been difficult to figure out what to throw away due to the lack of inventory space and mass support (such as the awesome Vortex Chain Reactor!), but I think it was worth it.
However, once I got to -8 Research, I started to run like a madman. Enemies were found left and right, then I triggered an ambush trap, then hunters and sentries decided to join the fight. Augh! I'm glad I switched over to hover.
Eventually, I decided to get to the nearest exit no matter what it is: Testing. And oh boy! I was so relieved to get away from those mobs. After wandering around a little bit in this somewhat unfamiliar place, everything went wrong...again!
I was hoping that I can fight against those robots, but the existence of those researchers made it impossible to fight back without any huge consequence, so I decided to run away. But after a while, things quickly escalated further until I became trapped. Here's a huge debate: Should I shoot through a wall to escape, knowing the researcher is across the room with a chance to catch up to me to stasis? Or should I ram through a grunt that's blocking the door?
After a moment of pause, I think I could escape from the researcher's wrath, so I blew up a wall tile leading to the next room. But after a while, the analyst finally caught up to me, scanned, and put me to stasis. Bad move???
It was only at this point when I finally realized......*gasp!*......I've been carrying a Transdimensional Reconstructor! It could've saved me earlier, but I failed to realize my own secret escape plan item. I was already half naked when I finally got to use it.
But unfortunately, even after more running, I came across a dead-end at a room. When I tried to go back, the narrow corridor is filled with hunters and programmers already. It was at this point that I had no choice but to ram through those people even with my hover propulsion on.
I was so, so happy when I got to see the exit at around the next corner. My body was practically naked, and I only a few things in my bag! I didn't think I can survive the next Research floor, until I see this:
I absolutely forgot about Warlord who saved the day for me. Seeing how distracted all my enemies are, I quickly took as much loot as possible, piecing together my combat hover build again, until the grand anti-ally force came by and wrecked havoc with their Executioners. That's when I quickly said to myself: "Well....Gotta go!" before reaching to Access.
Access was actually the most simplest floor ever. I only had to take a few steps to the left until I saw a backdoor leading to the Surface. With a success rate of only 7%, I got to open the door! (YESS!!!!) From then on, I marched to victory, completing the floor in only 63 turns. No combat necessary!
This run was full of surprise which I didn't think I could win, and yet here I am, my first combat win! Hopefully I can do the same with legs or treads because I've been relying a lot on running away and using stealth items, but a win is a win.
