I just noticed the Autogun and the Hvy. Assault Rifle are exactly the same except the Autogun uses 1 more matter per shot. Are there any other items like that? Does it matter?

I suspect there are a few thermal weapons with really similar stats, but I would need to pore over the data to find one. I just vaguely remember that fact when comparing items on a run a long time ago...

There are no identical parts, no. You've missed one of the most important stat differences between those two weapons: The Autogun has a -20 to its firing cost ("delay"), making it far better than the Hvy. Assault Rifle, especially when you're using more than one at a time.

I just noticed that Katana and Scythe have the same stats, I even checked the wiki and it seems to really be like that:

Is this on purpose? Because it does look like a duplicate component to me.

Nice find! I just checked the stats and they are indeed identical.

There really shouldn't be any duplicates, no, since we want every item to have its own unique advantages and disadvantages, although at the time these were created I believe this was intentional. Still, I'll consider this a confirmed bug (moving to appropriate board) and will have them tweaked for the next version.
