Adding delay when attempting to remove SE (spoiler) + some other feature request

In my latest run I have realized that KB with Scrapengine is some what more tedious than other play styles and pressing to see the inventory of SE and then back to "on but not eating my parts mode" requires 2 presses. Which if you were removing a parts and forget to move your finger and double click "Alt" it gets removed... That is a KB problem to me being a noob at KB but removing SE is extremely niche and even if you dump your build it is really light armor so what i mean to say is can it have a 2 to 1~ delay so to as to prevent accidentally ripping it off? Please?  and also maybe considering how to hold down a button to see what SE has, but that's quite a bit more niche than the delay :P

Yeah I saw that during your run posting on Discord... I can add it to the long-term potential QoL ideas, but taking that action already requires confirmation. True it's niche though this is the first time anyone's reported such an occurrence ever since the item was introduced a couple years ago. At this point it doesn't really warrant the amount of work for implementing an extra block.

Not planning on doing this. Cogmind keeps keyboard input options as simple as possible so they can more easily remain familiar, and overlapping input is important for achieving that result. There are only so many dedicated keys to be handing out :P (and having to remember extra different keys for different functionality is not good, so most items use the same sort of interface)

One reason I have come across is that when you alt tab alot it can get stuck with one of the keys you press and/or randomly and it will keep a previously selected key and it  might keep alt. I have multiple times cycled the mode of SE using that :P not 100% related but it can be stuck for more that 2 button presses so you can rip off SE and if you aren't careful. My main assumption is that due to me posting my run, the status of my constructs matter alot, and you can't see that from the reg UI so I tend to go back and forth alot. Anyway got worried that you weren't checking here anymore but I'm happy to have that though quenched  ;D also... TEAM TREADS!!! sorry my not warlord part of me came out after that last stream... the stuck button might be a hardware issue tho but I don't thing that due to haw it acted.

Not checking here anymore? The forums you mean? Most definitely checking, although the automated emailing for notifications is often broken so it generally takes me longer than it used to :/

The stuck Alt is indeed not a hardware issue, it's an SDL/Windows issue mentioned in the manual, actually! You need to fully tap the Alt key after returning from an Alt-Tab in order to restore its normal state before safely continuing play. Getting used to doing that if you tend to Alt-Tab while playing will make the keyboard play experience much smoother, and avoid issues like what you had here. (Unfortunately it can't be resolved with the current library--tried several approaches but nothing works.)

It seems that my sleep deprived brain decided not to mention that it might be happening with other keys, tho that also could be from alt side effects .I'll keep you posted on Discord (indirectly) for current status and here for my more final decision. It also seems to not understand haw how to spell so maybe I should wait till the morning and forgo speed of conversation for the sake of legibility. :P

Again might be a hardware in combination with the bug/bug+  or misremembering right now but I seem to remember that pressing the button didn't always refresh its state, but  I will keep you posted now that I thought about it and l know what to look for.

PS. It seems that this has now become a bug report... welp can't help it I guess  ;D but I'll keep it here for now until I know it's more than what is currently mentioned in the manual/dissappears,which is what I suspect now that I will be investigating it properly rather than just reacting. And I'll give my final-error opinion once I have 100% into KB and... you know what that's too much typing for a phone so I'll leave it here.

It's just the Alt key. If it's any other key then it's definitely your own keyboard has some sort of hardware/software issue of its own (or you have other software which interferes with its operation--we've seen that before). With Cogmind in particular it's the Alt key, which yes will affect any other key used along with it (and ideally you'd tap it twice upon return just to be completely sure controlled had been handed back over to the game by that point, since before then it has no way to be able to confirm the state of the Alt key--the library cannot provide this information accurately until the reset).
