It seems that you have two overlapping privacy policy's and that seems like a bad idea so... you have [https://www.gridsagegames.com/forums/index.php?action=agreement and the blog one that says it covers the forums https://www.gridsagegames.com/privacy_policy.html  They are slightly different so thought you might want to know :P

well... Yeah i kinda expected this but it looks over sized now but this was to be expected... Looks much better on Discord now though so its a win in my book but def not my preferred one ( and btw it took like 5 min but I've been busy lately to do art soo...)

Hard to see on discord so I probably should make a dedicated one for that but it would lose alot of the purpose of using REXpaint other than convenience. Turned out alot better than I thought it would, and it being Cogmind theme was the icing on the cake along with a little bit of implied NWL lore... The finished product would be posted on Discord but not really Cogmind relevant enough for that so it will probably stay here and although I don't have the most recent one I will definitely post the Discord version here as a suggestion of size/style for others if I do end up with enough time for it...

And curiously profile pictures don't get shown on a phone unlike in the pre-update forums

Well that was much faster than i thought it would be :P Not in it's final form but nice place-holder for input

Reminds me that I need to do the same with my name... Coming SoonTM

Quote from: Kyzrati on January 06, 2025, 08:02:24 AMSorry, but no the font isn't going to be rearranged--you're looking at the standard CP-437 layout, it's the default for a reason :P

Ah, an industry standard, who am I to complete against that? Well, good to know that there's a reason.

as you can see in the pic down below, figures, where applicable, have some form of their inverse normally next to them. the top right circle has one fig with no inverse, then the middle bottom pair have their respected inverses, but then the missing inverse of the first one appears at the bottom right. It seems somewhat inconsistent manner so if possible, could this be changed and have their inverses next to each other? And if there is a reason, such as keeping the others in such a manner requires that this one be odd, it would be nice to know.

Quote from: Kyzrati on December 25, 2024, 06:24:01 PM(The creator of this theme wanted everything to be red-shaded "Burnt" so it's a bit monotonous, which can be nice in some ways, but problematic in others :P)
Yeah I also saw a SMF option or something but I didn't like the look at all so I decided not to have a colorful theme and instead keep it the way it is..

Quote from: Kyzrati on December 25, 2024, 06:33:02 PMI also saw this when you mentioned it on Discord, but not planning on doing anything with it for now unless it affects anything else or becomes more obvious/frequent in some manner.
Well, for more obvious, for longer named machines there is an explosive one that goes right to the edge and is pretty obvious because thr orange letter stays there as well and calls alot of attention especially if you are used to looking there/are newer to the game and are looking at that more often. I certainly looked at that alot when I first played this game, wondering thr halls with awesome ambiance and sounds all just around the corner. :P

Don't know what most people think but for me I find the contrast of the simble too low for a subforum that has a new post. I have missed on my first time looking through the forums, not even a fast skim, so maybe increase the contrast? In through old one it was yellow against dark gray, but in this one  it's red against red. :P

In the picture below you see that a little piece of the line is in the original spot that it would be if the screen was not zoomed. I am not sure why the audio window changes position and I only counted this as a bug due to the fact that refreshing the screen (like pressing Esc. 2x while zoomed) the line disappears. Really minor and, no, i don't normally use zoom, i was just mashing the button to see how the game would react :P (does not require mashing). Doesn't update with movement either.

Dang, it's a shame, I liked the old style. Anyway nice to have the forums back. And nice little lore drop there, I approve the vagueness as being Kyzrati certified over spoiler content.

It seems that my sleep deprived brain decided not to mention that it might be happening with other keys, tho that also could be from alt side effects .I'll keep you posted on Discord (indirectly) for current status and here for my more final decision. It also seems to not understand haw how to spell so maybe I should wait till the morning and forgo speed of conversation for the sake of legibility. :P

The stuck Alt is indeed not a hardware issue, it's an SDL/Windows issue mentioned in the manual, actually! You need to fully tap the Alt key after returning from an Alt-Tab in order to restore its normal state before safety continuing to play
Again might be a hardware in combination with the bug/bug+  or misremembering right now but I seem to remember that pressing the button didn't always refresh its state, but  I will keep you posted now that I thought about it and l know what to look for.

PS. It seems that this has now become a bug report... welp can't help it I guess  ;D but I'll keep it here for now until I know it's more than what is currently mentioned in the manual/dissappears,which is what I suspect now that I will be investigating it properly rather than just reacting. And I'll give my final-error opinion once I have 100% into KB and... you know what that's too much typing for a phone so I'll leave it here.

One reason I have come across is that when you alt tab alot it can get stuck with one of the keys you press and/or randomly and it will keep a previously selected key and it  might keep alt. I have multiple times cycled the mode of SE using that :P not 100% related but it can be stuck for more that 2 button presses so you can rip off SE and if you aren't careful. My main assumption is that due to me posting my run, the status of my constructs matter alot, and you can't see that from the reg UI so I tend to go back and forth alot. Anyway got worried that you weren't checking here anymore but I'm happy to have that though quenched  ;D also... TEAM TREADS!!! sorry my not warlord part of me came out after that last stream... the stuck button might be a hardware issue tho but I don't thing that due to haw it acted.
#22
In my latest run I have realized that KB with Scrapengine is some what more tedious than other play styles and pressing to see the inventory of SE and then back to "on but not eating my parts mode" requires 2 presses. Which if you were removing a parts and forget to move your finger and double click "Alt" it gets removed... That is a KB problem to me being a noob at KB but removing SE is extremely niche and even if you dump your build it is really light armor so what i mean to say is can it have a 2 to 1~ delay so to as to prevent accidentally ripping it off? Please?  and also maybe considering how to hold down a button to see what SE has, but that's quite a bit more niche than the delay :P

General Discussion / Re: Late Game Help?

okay, so this might just be a case of "you need to git gud", but I'm genuinely sort of lost. i have over 70 hours in the game now and im not gonna lie the late game is kinda kicking my ass.
Don't worry I have 460 hrs and I can't pull a W all the time, mostly due  to greed.
And sorry to burst you bubble but research is the lowest point that I would consider "late game". And Access is not the end either, but the road there. You are the Cogmind, and this is a game, but this is Cogmind, there is always more just around the corner

The Cogmind Discord channel is an excellent place for help, but I think you are already there? Then the wiki, the best place for item stats.

Spoiler
Just debuffed finding warlord with out seismic :P
[close]
I don't think finding him will change much from that simple change :
Spoiler
You either find Warlord early, in which case you should already know his general location,
or you find him late, in which case there will be D-83s that also use Micro-Nukes.

Well, it can help if you don't have seismic it would help alot with its massive sound range  :P

So while playing there are several times we're I hear sound effects but nothing is displayed on the side were values are normally show. Ex (like a fight going on and I hear it but the side bar doesn't react to this at all) is this intentionally or some odd edge case?
