This week's seed: HeavyAbyssalCannonThe Weekly Seed is open to anyone, and we encourage you to share your experiences, stories, and tactics over the course of your run.
The rules are as follows:
- The Weekly Seed begins from the date this thread is posted and lasts about seven days.
- Make sure you are running the correct version of Cogmind (see thread subject).
- Enter the seed and abort your current game to initiate the seed (more details are below).
- Verify you are not running the tutorial and that the screenshots below match your game.

- As Cogmind now has multiple difficulty modes and challenges which will affect the world generation, by default it is assumed everyone is playing on regular difficulty with no challenges enabled. You are free to use whichever settings you wish, but if you intend on discussing it, be sure to specify what difficulty/challenges you're using!

I like this idea :). The random names are fun, but also kind of a wasted opportunity to use only words that do exist considering the seed is currently manual.

I actually can't decipher what you're saying here.

Maybe it should be WeeklySeed110, WeeklySeed111 etc :P
Maybe the game can generate a weekly seed automagically for all of us, ingame, and it ensures that you can only enter the weekly seed once.
Oh sure that's a future goal that's been on the list, it's just still too early for it on my end.
Hey everybody! I've been working on this seed for a few weeks and it DID NOT DISSAPOINT!
Since Beta 5 is the 'Zionic Revolution', I decided to shoot for Z to try out the new mechanics. The first couple levels went swell, I even had fun in the mines on both sublevels 9 and 10. Fortunately, a derelict log found me the location of Z, sublevel 7. Soon enough, I was there, and in pretty good shape too.
Z-Spoilers
I was pretty pumped to get to Zion, and was really excited to try out the new imprinting. Exploring a bit, I got the codes to the deep caves; immediately, I was torn. I wanted to go deep caves again, but....I didn't want to give up exploring the new imprinting. I decided to get imprinted. Then changed my mind and headed for the deep caves
ZDC-Spoilers
Fortunately, I was pretty well equipped for ZDC, and a couple helpers from A8 were great :D. All in all, I blundered my way through and managed to escape with a couple GUs. I was immediately a bit overwhelmed and unsure of how the GUs worked. Some tips from my twitch chat and the discord channel helped a lot as I went through proximity caves and on to factory. With Assembled parts, I felt like a god, it was so much fun.
Factory-Spoilers
A big part of factory was getting acclimated to playing with GUs. There's definite strategies associated with attaching and detaching parts, digging for utillities, and protecting the GUs. Then, like a dum-dum, I headed into the lower caves towards DM. In the end, DM may have helped me out (some doors opened magically down the line), but it came at an expense, one GU :(.
Heading for research
Out of the proximity caves, I made my way through the final factory levels towards research. I only had a single GU,
and probably should have spend more time on these floors getting prepared for when it was destroyed. Alas, I didn't, and that probably led to my downfall. Soon enough, I made it to Research! And things went downhill remarkably fast :(. I was having energy issues and was getting overwhelmed by hunters and programmers when I stumbled into a cool new place: QUARANTINE!
A swift demise
Quarantine was super cool, but I'd like to get there a bit more prepared next time. My GU was immediately removed by some programmers. But...I found a sigix containment pod! Which immediately alerted guards to the area :( In trying to escape, I ran into a squad of CRAZY programmers called LIGHTNING with an archangel in tow. I barely defeated them before needing to scrounge for more supplies. I guess now was as good a time as any to switch to flight ::) I buzzed through the rest of Q, but was unfortunately unable to play with any of the cool stuff behind barriers due to my lack of a weapon. I exited to -2 being chased. -2 was much the same, and I exited to access being chased. Not to be boring in the late game, but -1 was much the same as I was pursued the WHOLE TIME. Somehow, I made it into a winding corridor with lots of doors and exited to a brand new area, Command :). I was in a bad way. I ended up bashing a programmer and equipping all of its parts, then running around like a mad man on hovers. I knew it couldn't last and was soon blown to bits.
In the end, this run was really really fun. I got to see new areas, use new items, and generally learn a bunch more about this amazing game! Looking forward to the next one!

PSA: At this point, I'm getting good enough (or lucky enough) that my runs take a considerable amount of time compared to the past. I've got quite a backlog on youtube videos, so this one won't be up for quite a while.
That's quite an awesome run, nuzcraft! Fun seeing another player getting into even more interesting parts of the game, like GUs and Q, though you didn't really get to "see" as much of the latter. Definitely want to be prepared for that place.
But not many people get to play with GUs as early as you have, actually. In fact, I've still never even used one :P
True though that once you get as good as you have, each run will take longer and produce quite a few videos because you don't die nearly as fast!
