Unable to ascend stairs in lower caves

In the lower caves I came across a stairway that was indicated as such by the HUD auto-highlight, but no staircase (<) was visible on the map.  Likewise I could not auto-ascend or manually ascend on the give space.

Hm, I'm absolutely sure this has something to do with the new shortcut system*, although I tested it before under all known configurations and it seemed to work fine :/ (*although strangely I don't see mention of it in the log, so perhaps somehow the shortcut elsewhere messed with a normal exit...)

To investigate I'll need the score sheet for this run, from which I can rerun the seed and follow your route to try to keep other variables the same.

A related question: You found the/an other exit okay, right?

Yes.  The factory exit was found and worked as usual.  The run is still going.  I'll attach the score sheet after I complete the run.

Got it, thanks. I'm sure it'll be easy to resolve. The feature it involved was pretty important to have in for Alpha 13, but I didn't get to it until the very end of the cycle so not much time left for extensive testing, just a cursory "well, it seems like it works" :P

I've played a ton more games since posting this, and have yet to encounter this again.

It might require some obscure conditions.  As I recall I had an ally at the time.  He may have died out of my field of view and in the general direction of the stairs.

Okay, so I just confirmed it--this was solved last week in real time when buthix9 encountered it in our Discord channel :)

I didn't know if it was the same as what happened in this thread, but after loading up your seeds it turns out it was! It also turns out it has nothing to do with the new shortcut system :P. Instead it was caused by a particular newish cave encounter containing Minesweepers, who may find a trap installed directly on an exit, and in the process of removing the trap they destroyed the actual exit itself, heh.

Thanks for the reports everyone. This is fixed for Alpha 14.
