used to work, and was working for years, but apparently some other recent changes to the player movement processing must've broken it (there have been quite a few changes to that code...).
Thanks for bringing it up.
Without looking I'm pretty sure it's bugged--I think I noticed this in the back of my mind recently, but didn't jot it down for investigation. I'll fix it for the upcoming tournament edition.
(And if there's any bug that someone "wouldn't want to report," it was the one Mando told me about before Alpha 3 that always gave you a 90% dodge rate when you had Maneuvering Thrusters
