This didn't take me long...

Well, I went into this run pretty confident, after escaping for the first time and finding my supporters item in the same run over the weekend.

Which of course meant that to even things out this was probably my least successful run ever.

I ran into a bunch of swarmers to the north-west of the first level entrance, which blew up a neutrino reactor I was stood in front of and stripped me bare. Then, though I found some stairs further to the west I decided that I should try to better equip myself before escaping.

Mistake.

I ran into another bunch of swarmers and grunts exploring east, found myself in a series of dead-ends and died unceremoniously, without enough energy to equip my only weapon and a score that would only just have registered in the tournament (which is more due to the swarmers blowing up their own machine than anything I did).

Can't win them all I guess! Probably should have realised things weren't going great at the stairs and taken them anyway, then used the extra slots / core integrity to get the equipment I wanted more safely on the next level.

May have another go at the seed later in the week for fun (/to restore my Cogmind ego), but here is my official entry:

Chiming in to say that the tournament was a great idea & really fun - managed to get to Research for the first time, so hopefully escaping isn't too far away now!

I did notice that the "Deathwish" achievement went unclaimed - did no-one manage to kill an assembled? They certainly killed me more than once, but perhaps all the people who are skilled enough to take them on are also savvy enough to avoid the Mines completely!
