okay, so this might just be a case of "you need to git gud", but I'm genuinely sort of lost. i have over 70 hours in the game now and im not gonna lie the late game is kinda kicking my ass.
Don't worry I have 460 hrs and I can't pull a W all the time, mostly due  to greed.
And sorry to burst you bubble but research is the lowest point that I would consider "late game". And Access is not the end either, but the road there. You are the Cogmind, and this is a game, but this is Cogmind, there is always more just around the corner

The Cogmind Discord channel is an excellent place for help, but I think you are already there? Then the wiki, the best place for item stats.

General Discussion / Side sound bar doesn't reflect some quiet sounds.

So while playing there are several times we're I hear sound effects but nothing is displayed on the side were values are normally show. Ex (like a fight going on and I hear it but the side bar doesn't react to this at all) is this intentionally or some odd edge case?

Well, i can't figure it out, maybe I'm blind but i looked (okay skimmed) the manual for how, then cogmind file, but I can't find out :(. I am allowed to use the tile set right? Or do you have to get that separately/ can't? :P

Hmmm, sure that makes sense, especially when the only case that it matters in when you have corruption. Good luck then with that, I'm curious tho, when in the betas time line is that going to be? ex before beta 15 / with beta 15 ect. ect.

But yeah okay. Its not a huge issue and it really only is annoying specifically during the warlord attack and W8, so I can live with that ^^

I would be worried to use it in research WL attack, last time I was there the game crashed, reminds me to do the bug report, tho I'll have to test it first, I don't what more posts of mine in the "not bugs" category. (Wiz. mode, to my knowledge, would help but that will be one day, not too far off in the distant future... okay maybe a year or two, but you can't have it all)

I do think that in some situations it would be nice, but there is a few where it could be catastrophic, and trash you build, so giving a tool that could nuke you on accident seem a bit hard to justify in all scenarios, especially when high range enemies come into play

EDIT: probably won't be nuking a info-war combat build (unless a destroyer is there) but a flight build could be wiped with a couple of careless button presses

Who would have thought that the most popular power source in the game is the one that isn't supposed to exist?

You can totally make it real, just have it instakill you, give a chronowheel distorted core destroyed screen when using a version of the chronowheel, given by the tinkerer that employed you, that pulls you "out" at 1 core integrity XD

What is this referring to? While it's true you could get access that way more conveniently while already inspecting something else, as per the commands list you don't need another info window open to do that--the proper command is Ctrl-RMB to inspect walls and doors.
If you are playing mostly with the mouse, while it is possible to use control, it's not very easy to find so the way I play is by inspecting a part, I didn't know you could use the control key and them inspect, until now (and I'm not particularly new with almost 300 hrs.) As for suggestions, not much, maybe a tutorial message for using control when you see a reinforced wall? If not there already of corse. (It is in the Advanced menu but that's maybe suboptimal since it is very important to see the armor and resistances

Organic discovery on Steam is quite low for Cogmind considering it's a niche title, so interest is generally driven from the various other outside sources.

I ended up putting that as an afterthought more than a real likelihood maybe next beta I'll do this the right way a post a link on Discord (like you suggested) every 12hrs or so and ask that they vote, because most of the flow here are guests and don't want to make an account, which is fair

Yeah if you click a Terminal it shows what's installed there. Though I don't think I'll be making changes here, I did look and the hack is removed from the list if, for example, you see an Operator erase it.

Disrupt will only be removed by Operators and I think Programmers, too.
didn't know that Ops. removed it huh. Anyway thanks for the clear up.

I checked the save though and you got traced at a bunch of those Terminals, which prevents them from contributing to Skim at all..
It this specific to the Skim Trojan because I'm almost certain that I have done a Trojan(disrupt) gotten traced and it still worked.

I will see about removing the hack from the Terminal info list to make that part more obvious (although few people ever look at that list, or even know it exists :P).
There is a terminal info list? Well at least this bug report did something other than just waste time

I did a trojan(skim) and had 5 skims (1 more to go it says), what?? so i do it again but still 1 more to go? so not good. I have now 6 skims in the screenshot (not all of them). so not good.  I did it manually because your last stream tempted me. I was trying to find out on my own but no. Anyway I was going to ping you on discord but you were on the MTF stream and you account was zzz, so I'll let you enjoy it and put this here. Plus I need to sleep... good luck  :P

I'm really curious about where/what communitys people come from.
Unfortunately alot of the community is on Discord and will never see this bit or they don't have an account.


My trip was from mindustry (really good for  being the price of free), Factorio, so I started watching dosh vids, at that point I almost got ADOM but then he released the Cogmind vid. So I looked at the community and liked what I saw and the rest is history.
 So now, depending on your metric of choice, I have 260 hours on score dump or 290/300 hours according to Steam to this day. :P

Dosh seed-- go into 3 garrisons on the same floor and install a total of four RIF's
or
Dosh should have gone... and you too-- leave a garrison with 2000 influence or more.
LU-IGI escape (inspired from the dataminer so credit there)-- dig with a melee weapon 10 tiles in an unstable area while being prosued by 3 or more hostile bots (armed)
Cogmind Wiki contributer-- use a component analysis suite to identify 10 prototypes
Bot3 brawl!!!-- use a botcube (Lrg. too )
"Just use a botnet"- use the Trojan(MTF) on a terminal (needs a in-game implication else ignore this)

The point I made in this other thread today is that it's supposed to be as hard as it is, and there is no intention to make it easier. At all!

That said, there is already technically a unique engine that stores a massive amount of energy, if you can get it, but it's not easy or in every seed, and also as pointed out by someone who actually did the Drained challenge, obtaining it makes gaining the rest of the needed energy that much more difficult, despite giving you a head start in a way, so that's good it should remain as difficult as it was before.

Note there are also already very useful utilities for lowering energy costs, and they explicitly are not compatible with LC. Remember where LC came from and what it's really for ;)

Yeah the first and third one were mostly as a joke but I do think that, depending on how many there are, that some achievements that are hard are good, however this migh tbe too much but i do think that, once Cogmind is complete,  it should then be considered.

Also I think that some achievements  named after members of the community would be nice, (make some new ones not change them) I have some ideas in the works with, to name a few, Luigi, Dosh, aoemica, being the ones I know that they are known and what they are known for. Tho it would be nice to know what other members,  eg. Plexion, MTF, are known for (any that are not named are welcome)

I really do feel it'd be cool and deserving to have a Drained LC achievement, and yet... it's soooo hard I don't know... Definitely on my list of future achievements to consider when we do the next batch. Guess it'll depend on how many other super hard achievements there are--technically at least one or two from the first batch are quite hard, but still not LC level :P

Maybe you could add some sort of non-alien capacitor that stores more energy than most batteries but takes damage (help version)
or
Maybe put the it in anyway, alot of the 100% are pretty hard and challenging, taking time and experience so I don't think that 1 of 50 or so achievements are ridiculous in how hard they are or
 or
Some sort of item that helps in many (small) ways, challenging to get (or keep) but lowers the cost of firing any weapon (or just the cannon, recommend the cannon only) and it could have something to do with the ship trying to reduce the firing toll on the capacitor to improve life spand
This got pretty far from where I started my ramble, huh, maybe I should cut this shorter next time :P

This is really good. Kyzrati should just hire you for the lore and part art XD. Jokes aside, darn did I say this is only good? It's in game worthy. I think Kyzrati will pin this but we'll see.

I do little news updates at the beginning of my streams, but definitely not a way to get the most timely community info :P

To late for me XD. Yeah I knew that I'm just not on discord, like ever but I'm trying to be looking look at least once  a day   :P.

I really wanted to join but by the time you made the announcement on the video, it was full ( how fast did it fill up? I want to make myself feel better for completely missing it ) anyway I'll be there ;D (unless I can't count and that day I do something, then... we'll have to see :P) tho it works perfectly since that usually when I play cogmind so watching cogmind is no different, right?

In any case, yeah I liked that feature too, but I'm tired of having to respond to people who report these corridors attached to unfinished rooms :P (even if that wasn't your intent, it still reminds me yet again... already third time this month xD)

It will be gone with the next patch coming this week.
I looked at one of those reports actually... maybe one day you'll be able to put it back in  :P

Technically in that scenario there was an "open" space cardinally adjacent to the door, since stairs are considered normal moveable spaces as far as most bots go, and technically Cogmind can end up on them as well), but anyway it only was something that could happen if they're digging out a room like that, but no longer since I removed the possibility of active excavations earlier today so I stop getting reports related to it :P

Hmm shame I liked that feature,
So is it a bug/unintended feature to have an emergency access door in the corner of a room?
I mean that was what my bug report was for...

Tho I'll post smaller bugs on discord I guess from now on if just to stop this clutter I'm making
