Rules are as follows:
- The Weekly Seed begins from the date this thread is posted and lasts about seven days.
- Make sure you are running the correct version of Cogmind (see thread subject).
- Enter the seed and abort your current game to initiate the seed (more details are below).
- Verify you are not running the tutorial and that the screenshot below of the Scrapyard and Level -10 matches your seed
- Play through the game once. This is a friendly competition and we are all honest people.
- When finished post your scoresheet here (it should be the newest file in /scores) and any other screenshots/stories/strategies you wish to share with the community.
- Due to the spoilerific nature of this thread do not read the comments if you are intending to participate and haven't played your run!
- Any scoresheets submitted after seven days will not be included.

Not too shabby.
The run down:
Spoiler
-8 was a brutal level for me as far as Materials goes. I had to spend Factory -7 and -6 rebuilding, and thankfully got lucky with the stairs. By -5 I was in a good place. By -4, I had 2 deep network scanners but couldn't find any terminals. I did find and clear the entrance to Armory which provided some nice loot. By the time I found a terminal and hacked the stairs, I had already killed about 4 dispatched squads. The security level was pretty high by this point, and when I was closing on the stairs I got intercepted by 2 hunters, an ARC, and a friggin behemoth.
I ended up going into Research naked which is basically the kiss of death. Got lucky and found the stairs. On research -2 I managed to hack the stairs to Access but died en route. I can rebuild in Factory, but rebuilding in Research is way harder.
The accuracy buff didn't effect the game too much, except making swarmers easier to kill.

- go to access and wait till the k-01 serf comes and kill both
(got nothing to take)
- decide to kill some t-07 excavator just for 'coverage'-utilities cause
i really don't need a seismic analyzer and a imp.terrain scanner right now...
but the coverage of these, with both -for me at the moment sensless utilities-
the core is 18% exposed ;)

- first a door in the left wall & an active non-explosive purification channel..
the question here: purification for what ?
- one step forward, i see a terminal in a range of 13 but also
a very angry looking 0-16technician direct behind
- to the door in the wall, a room - nothing special here but a
highly explosive fusion modulator

- stop, right behind a second purification channel in a range of 15 a swarmer,
a little s-10pest and what we know about s-10pests?
right, they never come alone
- back to the room, outside at the door-corner at a range of 16 i shoot
with assault rifle just that he take notice of me and tell his little friends
- ok four swarmers noticed me and shoot, none is hit me
- i am in the room now an wait
- first down, second down... the fusion modulator explodes,
take the other pest with but also destroyed my small laser AND
a recycling mashine what short before comes in view :(
- over there the beautiful looking core shilding is still lying on the
(surprisingly very clean) ground
- got it. swap with the seismic analyser and it feels really goood
- in the right wall one door, i step through, a room with an material processor
in there, and a door leads to the terminal
- go to terminal but he is out of order (i knew it - saw it in that ugly 0-16 face)
- a a-02 transorter in range of 3 but hit chace of 69 - i wait one step- hitchance 72% - another two steps of waiting and he waits too. very good cause
we have now a hitchance of 82% for my little babies aka the assault &
the lgt.assault rifle...i shoot but the transporter begin to run..run away.
noooo i just wanna play. he is at r=5 and a hitchance of 73% for my friends.
i shot again and again but he is away and i let him pass cause of the
twice seeing in life
- i go ahead in the right direction and explore the two rooms- nothing special
but the bigger of them have a second door, i go through this door and...
the runaway-transporter in r=14 and a hitchance of 50% - i shoot ..he run..
r=16/hc=60% shoot -- got him
- holy crap on my way to the transporters final place a g-34 mercenary
comes in view and shoot at me
- i go back behind a wall of the new room here
(the t-07 excavator is still diligent at work) and wait
- hc=82% three shots / hc=83% two shots / hc=84% two shots ..gotcha
- ok i'm at the resting place of a-02..loot the med.storage unit and
swap with the imp. terrain scanner.

- roomcheck: 2x explosive neutrino reactors and a second door which i go through

still shoot g-47 with 85% 1x - 86% 1x - 87% 1x - 88% 1x - 89% 1x got him..
now back in the room, wait two times then shoot the g-34 with 82% hitchance.
one time. he falls.
- drop: seismic analyser, lgt.ion engine and imp.terrain scanner/ get: sml.laser,
ion engine and a lgt.nuclear core with a itergrity 22/50.
i swap with ion engine
- go back to floor and through the door on the other side
-a room with an scanalyzer and a second door
- scan-insert: ion engine / first scan-insert failed / second works..
scanalyze works in just one try (no wonder at 90%..
just for fun i scan the small laser too (one try) and leave cause of 50% detection
-go through second door and see that the floor ends here
but there is a new door i will go
- a room with propulsion shielding lying on the ground
and a fabricator standing there..take the shielding and go out of here
- go along the floor were the g-47 comes from to trigger a
massive-razor-sharp blade trap what severed one of my lght.treads.
i accuire and attach these of course
-the floor ends here with a door to the left and a door to the right,
i go to the right and enter a room with four massive, highly explosive
and very loud nuclear reactors (it sounds so great,
so i sit me at the second one and just chill for some minutes,
ca. the time what a human smoker needs for a ciggarette)
- go back and open the left door ..it's a room
- roomcheck: 5x utility shielding, 2x compact wheels,1x lgt.cannon and a door
- drop: ion engine , get: lgt.cannon ,
cause of the very bad integrity of the lgt.assault riffle (4/80)
and the knowing of my small back up laser i direct drop these
and attache the lgt.cannon, get one shieldig and open the other door..
stop i forgot about my storage. so i get my ion engine back from the ground
and take one more utility shilding with ...now we can go
- it seems it is a room but it is not. behind the big fat material composer
it splits to the left and to the right.
- i go to the right ...and hell yeah TH3 4CC355 !
i'm pretty sure that this is an main-access because the lay-out
at this point it's time to tell a lttle bit about my gameplay.
usally when i have discovered the !main-access and my core is > 100
i go ahead instead and explore the area around this access.
to find some more terminals to hack, to find eventually better weapons
but first and at all to shoot the explosive stuff like reactors and modulators.
it's a little bit very risky but so much fun ^__________^
so this time too cause the core is at 204/250 (17%exposed)
- just to look i open the door right above the access and see it's a small room
with an non-explosive hadron collector inside and a sensor array
on the ground take the array and leave
- let's go back and have some fun in here, let's go to the 'chilling'-reactors
-ok we are here, no troubles on the way,
standig in the door...damn it sounds so great.
- time for action: range seven, targeting the second one..shoot,
again and again and again and again and again and again and again and
boooom, yeah that's what i'm talkin' about but only two explode
so we care about the others...i wait two times...boom.
ok one is still standing. after some waits nothing happens so i shoot and wtf
it needs five times and a lot of matter to still standing there
- i go ahead to the neutrino reactor where the fight with the g-47 was
a lot of matter is still lying here too
- two times and boom (nice color^)
- go back in the termainal direction and enter the little room with
the fusion modulator, and notice that i forgot a sml.matter storage unit
wich is still lying here..i take up and leave the room to r=2 in front of the door
- open the door again but this time with my 2 little babies and than straight shoot
at the modulator, boom just one try this goes fast but
inflect some damage to myself plus destroy my engine
- map check
- i decided to go back to the startpoint and explore the area there
- here i found a room with another neutino reactor and a lrg.matter storage unit
which i swap with the small one in my inventory
- now the same like before, leave the room, shoot the door
and make the reactor to explode
-after 3 times nothing happens but a swarmer comes in view,
i cancel my plan and enter the room again (very risky) and wait 16 times.
i open the door, go out and all seems so friendly...i shoot again
against the reactor but nothing happens...
after six times i decided to go...back in direction access
- back at the access i realize that i have a matter-problem cause 52/300
and the matter-storage more then empty
- i go to hunt some u, k, and t's but without success plus
two g-34 come in view and my matter is at 3
- i beginn panicly ram into some engineers to get matter,
than i shoot the first g-34 down..but where's the second
- i leave the room and want to explore the left side of the access
as i see that two g-34 comes out of the access
- i quick hide behind the material composer and shoot in the composer
for a hole where i can better hide. shoot again for a bigger hole
now i'm direct in the middle of the composer so that only one g-34 can hit me.
it worked perfect and all both are dead.
-now i can hopefully explore the left side
-a inactive terminal and right behind a door which i open.
found a granate launcher and two neutrino reactors are standing here.
the launcher go with, the reactors have to wait
because of my little matter-problem what i still have
- i leave the room and go north till i come to my first active terminal in this run
-scanning nodes, building attack tree and bypassing the authorization...we're in
(z)>>Trojan(Track) /(f) >>Traps(Locate) /(z) >> Alert(Check) /(a)>>Query(Scanalyzer)
- after two times >>Enumerate(Reinforcments) the terminal locked
- because of the tracking trojan i can see that two g's are on the way
but from direction north and my access is south-east so i go there
and leave the g's alone...stop. no - i go back an will kill them
because i can see if reinforcement is coming. i go the direction of the
(now i know) two g-34 so that they can see me.
as they spot me i lure them in a small room at the second inactive terminal
and let them rest in peace...
- no weapons to loot, just alu.legs and some matter.
my core is at 117 and my only weapon is my small back up laser
from the beginnig and thit matter hungry granate launcher.
matter is at 124 now.
- a g-34 from access-direction, kill him fast, take the ion engine and the heat sink
- now i'm back at the access and ready to go up...

I'm pretty sure I'd have done better if* I hadn't decided to suddenly stream my seed run on Twitch (https://www.reddit.com/r/Cogmind/comments/3smntc/streaming_weekly_seed_15_mystery_tunnel/). First time doing that; decided to stream it suddenly and quickly got OBS set up and running seemingly well enough. (*I'm also not as good at playing with tiles rather than ASCII, but I figured the former was better for streaming.)
While I don't think the game got significantly easier with 4b, I could tell it was a little easier. Still lots of pressure in the mid/late-game. I might've just been in the wrong place at the wrong time, but on
three separate floors I ran into bottlenecks where battle after battle occurred without any respite.
The first two times I weathered them nicely, but the third happened in an open area where I had no explosives and got worn down. That was -4/Factory where I fell...
On the way caused spectacular explosions and used them to take out a lot of evil robots, and on one floor later found the exit with only 51 integrity remaining, right when I'd pissed them off enough that they were sending both Programmers and an Assault squad.

Too bad you didn't make it through the Factory! Though I can imagine the writing could've gone on for quite a long time if that were the case =p. Takes a while to do all that writing (I did a similar walkthrough of Materials in one of the previous seeds, though with less character!).
Good idea to recognize and not fight around explosive machines :). In this seed I used quite a few of them to take out enemies, though.
And good work maximizing your chances of taking out Haulers, though Assault Rifles are a poor choice for the job, hehe. I prefer cannons to make sure they die a sudden death before the fleeing starts.
I see you found the Lgt. Cannon, too. My personal favorite and I was toting one of those, too :D
Interesting strategy about exploring after you find the main access. I used to do that a lot, but mostly stopped since it is quite dangerous and can turn a winning game into a losing one pretty quickly, at least putting you in a much worse condition before heading to the next depth. Certainly more challenging, though, if you're up for it.
Also WHAT IF you're wrong and it's not a main access? ;) (But yeah, usually you can guess with a high chance of being right.)
Overall some nice strategies in there :D
Since you like doing some unauthorized hacking, did you know you can use Force(Overload) on a Fabricator for some exciting results?

I'm guessing that has to be a setting in Twitch? I didn't do that myself. I think they store videos for a while there, though to get it on YouTube I'd have to actually store and upload the video... I didn't do anything but fire up OBS and start playing, so I don't even know if it recorded! Would be pretty long, though, not all that great for YouTube at a couple hours.
I can do another stream again next time, maybe :). I'll certainly do it if others will show up, since I need to playtest anyway.

Ah yeah, wasn't sure if you'd seen that elsewhere yet--haven't heard anyone mention that one :P. Since you're here reading, how about a Garrison hack: Force(Jam) if you don't have the capability to take it out or hack it shut but want to stop the flow of enemies. Of course, they'll investigate the situation from another point...

Well, yeah, time zones are a problem, and it would be impossible to accommodate everyone. Just an idea that if some were able to make it that might be a fun idea to continue with.
Glad you like the hack. I can see it being more useful on later floors as a quick solution, for sure. There are yet more unannounced garrison hacks :)

My run was going well, and I figured I'd try equipping a datajack instead of my usual melee weapon. At some point I'm chased into a dead-end room, and there are a few grunts behind me. I realise a good tactic would be to reboot the first one to buy me time to switch to my RL and escape. I reboot the first one, who is blocking the doorway, or so I thought. I try flying over but it prompts something to do with re-wiring the robot. So instead I position myself to blast a hole in the wall, and suddenly the grunts behind the rebooting one are right next to me, blasting my items to bits. The other grunt is still rebooting, blocking my escape. Run ended shortly after.
Aw, too bad you had to discover it under those circumstances :(. As per our emails I'm looking at and fixing this now. The main issue is normally when you move into a robot, rewiring takes priority over flight passage. I'll have to allow it to detect flight and override the failure message in that case, letting you past anyway.
